LANTHANUM BERYLLATE

La2Be2O5:Nd3+ single crystals are highly effective material for solid-state lasers oscillating at wavelength 1.07-1.08mm. Energetic characteristics of lanthanum berillate laser are twice greater then for yttrium-aluminum garnet YAG (Y3Al5O12:Nd3+) laser and not inferior of GSGG (Gd3Se2Ga3O12:Cr3+,Nd3+) laser. It operates well in picosecond pulse mode at a pulse duration 3-5 psec with an efficiency several times higher than YAG efficiency.
